Diamond Quilt- More work than I ever imagined.

This quilt is for a relatives wedding present. The pattern is a zigzag diamond. Like the title of this posts states, this project was the most detailed project I have ever done. I have to admit that I am really pleased with the quilt. A big thank you to my LAQ, Betty.

Crazy Quilt Pillow

This pillow I used lace, hand embroidery and had the chance to incorporate some decorative stitching from my new sewing machine. This is for my sister's birthday gift. I have the letter J for Jill in the top pink piece. A pillow like this is really fun to make. I may make more "crazy" pillows or start an entire quilt top.

Baby gift

One of my nieces is having a baby and I made this diaper bag for her. Owls are the "in" pattern now. I have Scotch Guard to put on the outside to protect it. It has pockets in the inside.

Baby Play Quilt

This small quilt has pieces of rick rak, and different textured ribbon attached as tags for baby to play with. The material is flannel and it should be a soft play quilt.

Easter Kite

This kite and card were sent to my daughter and her husband for Easter 2012.  The kite was made with 5" charm packs. It was a free pattern from the Moda Bake shop

Valentine Hearts-No Calories

I recently started working with craft felt and felted wool. These felt hearts had batting between them and I used the buttonhole stitch to put them together. The french knots were to simulate candy sprinkles.

Knit sweater

This is the first sweater I knit for my daughter in 2009.

Fruit and Veggie Quilt

I started collecting Fruit and Vegetable material a few years ago. I made this into a tablecloth for myself. I backed it with flannel and surged the outside edges together.

Another baby quilt

I like baby quilts made this way. Some call it envelope style. I use a 1 1/2  yard of material that catches my eye. This is the fourth baby quilt I have made this way.

Homespun rag quilt

I made this lap sized Homespun Rag quilt for a wedding gift. The Homespun fabric really "rags" nicely. I will enter this in our local quilting group Quilt show in March. Our goal was to pick a song and make an item to go with that music or vice a versa. I chose Mr. Bojangles as the theme for my quilt.

The following is an excerpt from the song written by Jerry Jeff Walker and made popular by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

I knew a man Bojangles
And he danced for you
In worn out shoes

With silver hair, a ragged shirt
And baggy pants, the old soft shoe

Dresdan plate table topper

This is one of the Dresdan plate table toppers that I  made. It is 18 x 18. It isn't difficult and turns out really nice. The ones I have recently made I will be saving for  a wedding  gifts. Sometime I will make one for myself.

Penny rug (candle mat)

Penny rugs were made by rural American women in the 1800's. Any size "penny" could be used. (pennies, buttons or spools). Though they were named penny rugs they were usually used on a table or larger ones for a back of a chair. This was a lot of fun and plan to make larger ones for a table top. This one could be used under a candle or lamp.
