Beautiful Crazy Quilt

No, this isn't mine. I was at a Quilt Show and saw this Crazy quilt which I fell in love with.  I saw a lot of neat ideas that I hope to work with soon.

Crazy quilting

I have wanted to try making a crazy quilt block for a long time.  I found working with different types of fabric together isn't easy.  I've read about crazy quilting but  you actually need to make a block to appreciate it.
Now I have the fun of embellishing the block. I haven't decided what type of thread I will use.  I hope to include some ribbon and roses on it.This is my first attempt using the flip n sew method of creating a crazy quilt block. I've read about  different methods and will try another soon...maybe today.

Yellow half square triangle lap quilt

This lap quilt is made using half square triangles and a piano key border. The border along with the purple binding really finished the quilt. I used a wavy stitch to quilt it rather than stitch in the ditch along the seams which gave it a different effect. At first I didn't know if I would like this quilt,  but I really like the finished product. This is a Eleanor Burns pattern called Dessert Time.

"I Love My Dog" pajama pants

I made my daughter pajama pants honoring her dog, Brooklyn. I got the material at Hancock Fabrics.
They were really fun to make.

Baby Blanket

Baby Blankets that I hope will be used and abused. I like using a whole piece of fabric for baby quilts instead of cutting the fabric up into little pieces.

Knitting with Fabric

Knitting and fabric can go together. I found a unique pattern for a scarf: a 1 yard of  fabric is cut on the bias  (so it would stretch) and tied the pieces together as I knit.  It is fun to try something different once in a while.

First Knitting project in 25+ years

In January 2009 I visited our local library and saw 2 ladies knitting and was instantly enthralled. I learned to Knit in 4-H and hadn't knit for more than 25 years. I (re)started knitting with a simple scarf and then ventured into sweater knitting. This was my first major project after my long hiatus from knitting.
I practiced on this sweater and then made 2 for my daughter.
I think my next knitting project will either be a cabled cardigan and/or some socks.
